The whole process of molding process can be divided into four parts:
(1) Blank preparation stage. Blanks used in the molding process are mostly pre-pregs with reinforcing fibers pre-mixed with the resin matrix. The base resin after adding curing agent, accelerator and the corresponding filler treatment, the fiber after modification treatment in the form of silk, yarn, cloth, felt and other forms of resin matrix can be partially mixed into prepreg. The quality of the prepreg will directly affect the impregnation of the matrix and fiber, thus affecting the performance of the molded products, the subsequent process will be adjusted accordingly for the quality of the prepreg.
(2) Molding preparation stage. Before molding, the prepreg and the mold will be pre-treated, the pre-treatment of the prepreg is mainly preheating, and the pre-treatment of the mold is mainly the preheating of the surface. After preheating the prepreg at a certain temperature, due to the plasticization of the base resin, the extension of the glass fiber, the entire prepreg will have a foaming phenomenon, at this time the entire prepreg fluidity enhancement, conducive to the molding of the material. When the preheated prepreg is transferred from the preheating device to the mold, the surface of the blank will be exposed to air and cause a rapid drop in surface temperature, so the preheating of the mold surface is mainly to compensate for the loss of surface temperature of the blank and improve the surface quality of the product.
(3) Molding stage. Molding stage is the core part of the entire molding process, the main process is the prepreg impregnated under pressure, flow and fill the mold cavity process, and then cooled by the holding pressure, demolding can be completed molding. Molding in the size of the pressure, pressure timing and pressure speed of the matrix and fiber impregnation plays a decisive role, followed by pressure cooling will also have a great impact on the surface quality of the product and dimensional accuracy, therefore, the stage of the process technology is extremely complex.
(4) Post-treatment stage. After demolding, the products need to be trimmed and punched to get the products, and sometimes also need to be sampling products to check whether it meets the design standards and molding standards. This process usually does not have much effect on the performance of the products.
